-Household Assorted
(12 Needles - Assorted Sizes)
An assorted pack of hand sewing needles for general everyday sewing needs. No household should be without this re-useable pack of sewing needles.
- Knitters (Yarn Darners)
(12 Needles - sizes 14/18)
A pair of hand sewing knitters needles with large eyes for easy threading. Ideal for making up knitted garments. Specially rounded points to avoid piercing and distorting the knitting yarn. Give your garment that professional touch by over-sewing the edges together, passing the needle through the loops of the knitting. Never try to sew through the wool strands.
Works well with large thread or yarn.
- Embroidery
(16 Needles - sizes 3/9 or 5/10)
Embroidery sewing needles (aka Crewel Needles) are the same as Sharp Needles with sharp tips. However, they have a long, extra large eye, making threading a lot easier, particularly when using multiple strands of cotton embroidery thread.
- Easy Threading
(6 Needles - sizes 4/8)
Easy Threading Sewing Needles (aka Calyx Eye Needles) have a slotted threading eye at the top for thread to pass through. They are designed for people who have difficult threading ordinary sewing needles.
- Sharps
(20 Needles - sizes 5/10)
Sharps are mostly commonly used for hand sewing. They have a sharp point and are medium in length (compared to short Quilting Needles). Sharps have a rounded eye, usually large enough to accommodate thread. Size 1 is the longest and thickest, and size 10 is the smallest and thinnest.
- Beading
(6 Needles - sizes 10/13)
Beading hand sewing needles are very fine, long straight sewing needles with long eyes made from the finest steel wire and are expertly crafted. These hand sewing needles are designed for and are fantastic to use with beads, pearls, sequins and are very useful for threading and stringing pearls.
- Yarn Darners
(7 Needles - sizes 14/18)
Yarn Darners are very long hand sewing needles with long threading eyes and are ideal for spanning large holes during mending, using yarn or cotton.
- Chenille
(6 Needles - sizes 18/24)
Chenille sewing needles are large eye needles and are identical to Tapestry or Cross Stitch needle in length and diameter. However, the Chenille point is sharp, rather than blunt, and is used for crewel and ribbon embroidery.
- Leather
(3 Needles - sizes 3/7)
Leather Needles (aka Glovers Needles) are used in all types of leather work including: shoe making/repairs, belts and leather garments. They have a triangular point, which enables them to pierce through tough materials such as leather, suede and vinyl without tearing. Each pack contains 1 needle size 3, 1 needle size 5 and 1 needle size 7.
- Long Darners
(6 Needles - sizes 1/5)
Long Darners are another form of a darning needle. The extra length and large eyes make them suitable for mending with yarn. However, Long Darners are also a popular needle to use in the soft furnishing and curtain trades. The extra length makes them ideal to use during basting and layering of fabrics together, especially for quilting.
- Tapestry
(6 Needles - sizes 18/24 or 26)
Tapestry Needles (aka Cross Stitch Needles) are a must have for every crafter and sewer. The rounded blunt tip enables the sewing needle to pass and slip between fabrics and yarns without splitting or tearing the fibres. Use them with wool, embroidery soft cotton and stranded cotton, on Single Point Canvas, Double Point Canvas, Aida and open mesh fabric.
- Quilting/Betweens
(20 Needles - sizes 3/9)
Quilting sewing needles (aka Betweens Needles) are very short and fine with a round eye. Traditionally, used by tailors and professional sewers, but nowadays commonly used for quilting. The diameter of the needle is the same as a Sharps Needle, except that they are shorter in length, which allows the quilter to create quick and even stitching.
